BAM MOTHER AND CHILD HYGIENE KITS DISTRIBUTION

Project Summary: The provision of antenatal and postnatal care materials was important for the physical and psychological well being of pregnant women and new mothers. Mother and Child Health Hygiene Kits Distribution Project was a once off emergency distribution to bridge the gap until the local authorities re-organized Bam’s health infrastructure and until the antenatal and postnatal care materials becoming available again. Within the scope of this project, 1.620 hygiene kits were distributed for new born babies and infants and 1000 hygiene kits for pregnant women registered for care at the Bam Health Center’s 13 Zonal Branches.

Project Goals: To contribute to the physical and psychological health of pregnant women, babies and infants victims of the earthquake in Bam.

Project Beneficiaries: 1000 pregnant women, 120 new born babies and 1500 infants (0 – 1) had directly benefited from the project.

Implemented Activities:

After the identification of beneficiary mothers and infants living in Bam city and registered by the Bam Health Center’s 13 Zonal Branches, necessary products have been procured and delivered to the deposit of the Bam Health Center Headquarters. The products provided were as following:

According to the beneficiaries lists prepared and agreed upon, under the monitoring of IBC's field team, the distributions started through the network of the Bam Health Center, to the pregnant women and mothers (for their babies) who attended the Zonal Health Branches in Bam.
