INTERNATIONAL BLUE CRESCENT RESPOND TO FOOD NEEDS OF EASTERN GHOUTA-SYRIA


International Blue Crescent (IBC) respond to the emerging nutrition and sanitation and health needs of besieged for years people of Eastern Ghuta.

Heavy bombings of regime forces and the blocakge caused fort he deaths of thousands people during the last years.Recently bombings intensified and the life of the ordinary people in Eastern Ghuta worsened.

They face mainly life threat and then nutrition and health powerty issues.There is no food entering because of the blockade and no logistic  ways to provide enough food and health assistance.

IBC in cooperation with United Relief Committee of Eastern Ghuta (The only organised committee for food with its underground kitchens and distribution system) provide hot meal-food to those leave in severe conditions in shelters underground.

We do focus especcially on families with mostly children populated.Every evening the food prepared in kitchens  is distributed by IBC and committee volunteers to thsoe in urgent need in the shelters.

Priority is given to nturition needs and after to the health issues.

Because of lack of basic infrastructure and Access to basic health facilities danger of epidemics is imminent.

IBC appeals for contirbution to its food and health campaign in Eastern Ghuta and believes by cooperation with international partners as Penny Appeal will re-inforce its capacity in the fiedl for a more effective response.
