INTERNATIONAL BLUE CRESCENT CONTINUES RELIEF DELIVERY TO VAN DESPITE HARSH WINTER CONDITIONS


International Blue Crescent Foundation continues its humanitarian response to Van despite severe winter conditions. Food packages are distributed to students of Ermisler and the surrounding villages schools children. A large number of earthquake victims are provided with hygiene packs to.

The distrubition of food packages began to the total of 620 students in Ermisler,Karaagac and Bagdasan villages will continue for two months on daily basis.. Food package includes milk or juice, halvah, fruit and sandwich. Throught the distrubition of food packages we have targeted to meet children's daily calories need.

Including to the Food packages, in cooperation with the Global Food Banking Network and Nestle 700 bags of wafer packages delivered to the Turkish Red Crescent for distribution to children in the Mevlana prefabricated camps.

International Blue Crescent Foundation as a second activity provided blankets(four pieces for each family) and hygiene packs in Ermisler and neighbouring Karaagac and Bagdasan villages, for two months.

2500 blankets were distributed to the villages.

Hygiene packages are fort he monthy needs of the households. Detergent, toothpaste, soap, and other basic hygiene materials included to the packages.

Distribution in the region carried out despite the heavy winter conditions. Trucks carrying relief and cars with personel stucked to the snow sometimes and villagers run to the help of our teams.

Average temperature of January and February in the region ranges between minus 5-10 degrees.

International Blue Crescent Foundation completed taking students sizes and provide with all of students in the villages of Ermisler, Bagdasan and Karaagac with winter coats and boots.
