INTERNATIONAL BLUE CRESCENT(IBC) ORGANISED THE WORLD REFUGEES DAY CELEBRATION IN ANKARA


The World Refugees Day 2015 was commemorated in Ankara at an event organized by the International Blue Crescent Foundation, an implementing partner of UNHCR, and its supporting institutions (the Journalists' Association, the Research Centre of Asylum and Migration, the Association of Solidarity and Relief for Afghan Refugees, the Kademoon Syrian Schools in Istanbul and the Tarbush Restourants) on 17 June 2015. The large number of guests of the event were impressed by the photo exhibition by Ms. Ece Baca who reflected the perceptions of Syrian refugee kids in Gaziantep, the drama by the Syrian students of Kademoon Schools, the songs and folk dances by the Afghan kids from Kayseri, the catering by Mr. Mohamed, a Syrian refugee who fled to Turkey in 2011 with $1000 in his pocked and now owing a chain of 7 Syrian restaurants in Istanbul, and finally the story of Mr. Yusuf, a Turkish hairdresser in Ankara, who invited 10 years old Syrian refugee kid, Abdullah to train him as a coiffeur.

Around 150 participants from international and state organizations and NGO s attended the program.
