THE NEIGHBOURING WOMEN'S PATCHWORK


International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation, with the cooperation of the Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants, completed the 8 March International Women's Day preparations. ASAM Ankara Multi Service Support Center conducted ''The Neighbouring Women's Patchwork'' event. Products created by women from different cities were collected and 70 meter long art work was created. Sultanbeyli Community Center and Sultanbeyli Child Caravan Project beneficiaries of our foundation participated in the event.

In this project, women individually expressed their happiness, sadness, emotions, thoughts, hopes on fabric pieces by using some techniques like writing, painting, sewing and knitting.

With the inclusion of local people ''The Neighbouring Women's Patchwork'' Project has aimed to contribute to social cohesion by group work of women with different identities.

It is intended to share cultures and lives of each other and share them through art in a common language. The aim of the work is encouraging women to write stories and letters to open different fields in order to express themselves, to provide women from local people come together and to raise awareness on some issues like March 8, International Women's Day, gender equality and nonviolence.
