IBC WILL CONSTRUCT A HEALTH CENTER IN YAZLIK, ONE of THE DISTRICTS OF IZMIT: THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HEALTH CENTER WAS LAID A FOUNDATION WITH A CEREMONY

IBC President Reecep Uker and Kocaeli Governor Erdal Ata are signing the agreement.

The headquarters of International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation (IBC) President Recep Uker and Vice President Muzaffer Baca signed an agreement with Kocaeli Governor Erdal Ata on 28th of January. According to the agreement IBC will construct a health center in Yazlik district of Kocaeli. The health center will have six policlinics and one laboratory.
The technical staff of IBC is planning to complete the construction till the end of March. The health center was severely damaged after the 1999 Marmara earthquakes. Since the 1999 earthquakes the health center has been serving in a container with a very limited capacity. Thus it is a priority to establish a health center in the region.
After the meeting IBC President Recep Uker made a statement about the projects held by IBC.

IBC Vice President Muzaffer Baca demanded the contribution of local authorities and inhabitants.

Kocaeli Governor Erdal Ata thanked to International Blue Crescent Foundation for all achievements realized by IBC in Kocaeli.

Uker stated that the only aim of IBC is to cover the needs of disadvantaged people all over the world. He also added that IBC has been aiming to concentrate on the needs of disabled people. Therefore IBC will come up with new projects concerning the disabled people in the following months. Since the devastating earthquakes of 1999, IBC has given priority to development projects in the region. Constructing a health center to Yazlik should be regarded as part of this process as well.
On 6th of February the Kocaeli Governor, the notables of IBC participated in the laying the foundation of the health center. In the ceremony Kocaeli Governor Erdal Ata made a statement. He stated that IBC has given priority to development projects right after the Marmara earthquakes. Ata also noted that these efforts should not only be appreciated by other institutions, but also be taken as a model in order to heal the wounds of earthquake victims.

After the accomplishment of Yazlık Şehit Zafer Trabzonlu Health Center, the staff's will increase which means that the quality of the services will increase too.

Muzaffer Baca, the Vice President of IBC, on the other hand, stated that their efforts cannot be enough to realize the development of the earthquake zone but rather, the contribution of people living in the area can achieve such a mission. IBC will continue keeping in touch with local authorities in order to enrich the opportunities of inhabitants.
Yazlık Mayor Muzaffer Trabzonlu’s martyr son’s name will be given to the health center.
IBC will establish the health center with the support of Malteser Germany, as well as its own resources.
