International Blue Crescent(IBC) has organised the assesment tour for Pakistan Azad Jammu Kashmir(AJK) Reconstruction delegation in Turkey..In the framework of Worldbank-financed Retrofitting Program , the team composed of seven Pakistani officials and civil engineers visited İstanbul Technical University ,World Bank Project Implementation Unit in İstanbul,Turkish Disaster Management General Directorate in Ankara. During these visits, the team received information about the reconstruction and retrofitting work done in Turkey after the devastating earthquake of 17 August 1999. |

AJK Official Delegation has completed on site retrofitting works as schools and hospitals in İstanbul and collected information about the new construction techniques and materials used after the earthquake. Turkish experts provided the delegation with information about the new construction and retrofitting regulations and committed to assist the Pakistani authorities on organising such works in their earthquake-hit areas. Pakistani delegation expressed their satistfaction about the assesment tour, which increased their capacity to organise their retrofitting program and the works for reconstruction and rehabilitation.
