UNHCR TURKEY TEAM HAS ORGANISED AN ASSESMENT TOUR ON IRAQI REFUGEES IN SYRIA.IBC HAS PARTICIPATED TO THE ACTIVITIES
 


UNHCR Turkey Office has organised an assesment tour on Iraqi refugees problems in Syria.The team led by UNHCR Turkey Spokesman Mr Metin Çorabatır has visited refugee areas in Damascus and prioritized the plight of the refugees during the meetings with the Syrian officials from the Red Crescent and UNHCR Syria.


UNHCR team including teh Good Willing Ambassador Mrs Muazzez Ersoy visited the refugees registration center in Damascus


Mrs Muazzez Ersoy,The Good Willing Ambassador of UNHCR Turkey expressed her Deep sadness during the visit at the UNHCR Registration Center in Damasucs and pledged to intensify the campaign for the assistance of Iraqi refugees.

IBC was represented by the Vice President Muzaffer Baca and field program officer Aziz Civelek.The team composed by prominent Turkish journalists,UNHCR delegatşon and IBC delegation.

At the meeting with the Syrian Red Crescent,coordination for the relief activities was the main topic

Members of the team visited Seyid Zeynab and Jaramanah regions and interviewed the refugees about ther reasons leaving their countries and future plans.

Extreme majorty of the refugees don't have the desire and capacity to go back to their country and that damages heavily the Syrian economy and social infrastructure.

No needed attention is paid to the plight of the refugees internationally . Internatinal Blue Crescent educational materials distribution center in Jaramanah was visited by the team and the recent situation is investigated.

 

IBC is completing the procedures for full response and planning to have more effective prıgrams on fod, health, unemployement and educational issues related with the Iraqi refugees.

International blue Crescent has distirbuted educational materials to hundreds of school children in Jaramanah, Damascus.
