INTERNATIONAL BLUE CRESCENT HAS SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH TURKIC MUNICIPALITIES UNION..THE SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT IS THE CAPACITY BUILDING OF THESE MUNICIPALITIES
 

International Blue Crescent Humanitarian Relief and Development Foundation has signed a cooperation agreement with the Turkic Municipalities Union having as members municipalities from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Central Asia, Russia and Balkan Turkic speaking provinces.

The scope of the agreement signed between the President of Turkic Municipalities Union Mr Erol Kaya and the Vice President of IBC Muzaffer Baca, is to promote the capacity of the Turkic municipalities, to launch common community development projects and deal with humanitarian problems related with the disadvantaged cummunities in these republics…

Muzaffer Baca has declared COPPEM(European-Meditteranean Regional Cooperation Committee)'s desire to cooperate with the Turkic Municipalities Union on different topics


IBC will cooperate with Turkic Municipalities Union for developing the relationship of their members with international organizations such as European Union,World Bank etc.

As a first step a common web site will be launched and common projects for community rehabilitation, infrastructure, capacity building, gender issues and cultural cooperation will be developed.

Muzaffer Baca the Vice President of IBC has submited a statement about the (Influence of Local Authorities to International Politics)at the Local Auhorities Conference organised by Turkic Municipalities Union in Dolmabahce Palace İstanbul on 29 th January 2005.

Muzaffer Baca focused on the importance of the the role that local authorities may play in shaping regional policies.He mentioned to different cross border cooperation projects supported by EU and other international organizations.

The Focus of the conference was the establihment of a system transferring the problems and cooperation opportunities of the local authorities of Turkey, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkans and Russian Turkic speaking provinces to international agenda..

President of Turkish National Assembly Mr Bulent Arinc, Interior Minister Mr Abdulkadir Aksu, State Minister Mr Besir Atalay and more than 200 mayors and state officials from the members attended the conference.

Muzaffer Baca, represented COPPEM(European-Meditteranean Regional Cooperation Committee) in the conference.. He promised to support all initiatives related to the development of relationship between two institutions.

In addition he declared that Turkic Municipalities Union membership application to COPPEM has been endorsed.
