Damal Dolls were promoted at Istanbul Arts and Handy Crafts Fairs with the contribution of Damal Municipality . 120 participants from Egypt , India , Azerbaijan , Hungary , Kyrgyzstan , Kenya , Philippines , Iran , Uzbekistan , Thailand , China , Pakistan and various regions of Turkey took place at the fair realized at Istanbul Dolmabahçe Culture Center with the sponsorship of Istanbul Municipality Arts and Vocational Training Courses (İMSEK). |

The stand where the Damal Dolls were displayed was the focus of attention of the visitors, thanks to its 1000 years past and detailed handy work. At the stand, to which housewives and journalists paid most attention, Kezban Önal, responsible from Damal District Governorship, Mother Fidan and Aunt Hatice gave information concerning characteristics of the folkloric dress and production of the dolls to the visitors. Damallians living in Istanbul and responsibles from International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation were among the visitor. Hande Barlın, Project Coordinator, and Müge Demir, Administrative Assitant, wore the folkloric dresses and visited other stands. |

As know, Damal Dolls are supported in the scope of Ardahan and Its Vicinity Economic and Social Development Project implemented by IBC and financially supported by BTC Co. in order to promote the Dolls and increase income of housewives. Previously, IBC promoted Damal Dolls at Paris Toys Fair and 2004 Tüyap Zuchex Gift Fair (İstanbul). IBC also supported Damal Dolls by providing materials such as cloths and beads for the production of 5000 Dolls. |
