INTERNATINONAL BLUE CRESCENT HAS ENDED THE DESIRE OF HASKÖY VILLAGE OF ARDAHAN PROVINCE, WHICH HAS WAITED FOR WATER FOR TENS of YEARS
 

International Blue Crescent (IBC) has met Hasköy Village of Ardahan Central County with the drinking water system, in the scope of Community Investment Program which is running in Ardahan. The drinking water system has been started to be operated with an opening ceremony with the participation of Aydın Güçlü, the Governor of Ardahan.

Beside the Governor, Olcay Kurt, the representative of Village Affairs Directorate; Nevzat Bozkuş, the Director of Electricity Affairs; Prof. Münier Dedeoglu, The Director of National Education; Kemal Yılmaz, the Director of Health; Ayhan Söyler, the Commander of Hasköy Gendarme Station; Murat Demirtasli, the representative of BTC Co.; Adnan Kocak, the representative of BOTAS; Melih Zafer Yıldız, the PR responsible of Tepe-Nacap Consortium have also participated to the opening ceremony of water system which is waited for tens of years.

IBC has been represented by Ahmet Baykent. The representatives of the local and national have also showed a great interest to the opening ceremony. IBC has provided vehicles for transportation of journalists of TRT, AA, DHA, İHA, YHA, Akşam Gazetesi, Halk Gazetesi, Ölçek Gazetesi who came from Kars and for other journalist participated from Ardahan.

After the opening speeches, Kerem Yılmaz, the Mukhtar of Hasköy has presented a certificate in the meaning of thanks to each of the Ardahan Governor, The Village Affairs Directorate, BTC Co., IBC, The Agriculture Directorate, The Electricity Affairs, BOTAS and Tepe-Nacap Consortium, for their contribution to the community investment projects which are being implemented in Hasköy Village.

 

 

The construction activities for water system of Hasköy had been started by IBC, in the BTC Co.'s financial support, in 2003. But when the activities investigated closely, it will be seen that the water system, coasted tens of billions TL, has been finalized with a unique and harmonious cooperation between public sector-private sector-NGO and society. Village Affairs has prepared the feasibility studies, drilling activities, provided excavators for covering the canals and checked/monitored the activities. IBC has provided 15.066 m of pipes, fittings materials, diesel oil for excavators, workforce, financial support for energy transfer line. In addition, IBC has constructed a 200 tones-capacity of water depot. It also should be added that, IBC has organized and established a well operated coordination during the all activities from the first stage to date.

The needed excavators were provided by Tepe-Nacap for excavating the canals. The villagers have provided needed sands, cement, wire, nail and other materials, except 20 workmen who worked for 3 weeks. The society provided monetary support, too.

There was a great exuberance during the opening ceremony which representatives of all parties were participated. The villagers, who celebrated the operation of the water system accompaniment of drum and shrill pipe and folk dances, have expressed their gratitude to all parties who contributed to the water system, beside IBC. The water system has been delivered to the Mukhtar of Hasköy in the mean of a signed protocol.
